As alpaca owners we have ofter wondered what to do with all our fleece. Well, last year I found the answer. I attended a class to become a Certified Sorter of alpaca fleece. The benefit to having the fleece sorted is not only more uniform fiber, but also increases the longevity and wearability of the products.
Having your fiber sorted not only sorts your fiber into grades, but also gives the owner more information about the overall health of the herd. In addition, you will be provided suggestions for the best use of the fiber you own and it will be ready for production.
